So what is this pelvic floor and what does it do exactly? Located within the pelvis, the pelvic floor contains layers of muscles and tissue that support and surround the pelvic organs. For women this includes the bladder, bowel, and uterus. In men, it includes the bladder, bowel, and prostate gland.
