Tiffany

Meet Tiffany. She is 15 weeks pregnant with her first baby.

She is excited but also worried about her quickly changing body, new aches & pains, and what is going to happen during delivery.

She knows exercise is good and has been told to do Kegels. The amount of info available is overwhelming and she is not quite sure where to start.

Personalized 1-on-1 Program

Prepare for the best pregnancy possible

Your pelvic health is an important aspect of pregnancy. This program was created to fill a gap in our healthcare system because the pelvic floor is often overlooked.

Our pregnancy program at Markham Pelvic Health is tailored to every individual’s needs. Our thorough assessment will allow us to establish a baseline for overall pelvic health. Doing so also enables us to create a comprehensive plan to help equip you with all the tools for delivery.

Maintain a high quality of life by treating symptoms such as pain and urinary leakage. We’ll ensure that you are as comfortable as possible as you reach full term.

Step 1.
Assessment

Establish the foundation of your pelvic health.

  • Gain insights into the current-state of your body, so you can be confident that kegels will help, not hinder your progress
  • Master your pelvic floor muscle control
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of your pelvic floor and how pregnancy and delivery will impact your body
  • Personalized plan of care to take you comfortably from your 1st trimester to full term.
  • Treatment for any immediate discomfort
We suggest all our clients come in for an initial assessment near the end of their first trimester. This ensures you are prepared with knowledge and tools for your entire journey.

14 weeks

Step 2.
Maintain

Maintain a high quality of life throughout your pregnancy

  • Treatment for uncomfortable conditions such as incontinence, frequency and pelvic heaviness
  • Relieve your aches and pains so you can enjoy your pregnancy fully
  • Put your partner to work! Bring your partner in so we can train them on how to keep you comfortable at home!

Most women will start to experience discomfort during their second trimester.

15 to 35 weeks

Step 3.
The Final Push

Switch gears to prepare your body for labour and delivery

  • Decrease the risk of severe tearing with perineal stretching
  • Reduce risk of needing an episiotomy
  • Learn and practice safer pushing techniques so you know what to do on the “big day”
  • Learn and practice different birthing positions

Whether you are weeks or months into your pregnancy journey; have few or many concerns, our team is here to provide comprehensive guidance & care

Do you experience any of these symptoms?

  • Urine leakage with sneezing, coughing, exercising, or rushing for the bathroom

  • Urinary or fecal urgency or frequency

  • Back and Hip pain (Pelvic Girdle Pain)

  • Sciatic nerve pain

  • Round ligament pain

  • Hemorrhoids and constipation

  • Scar tissue pain (post-vaginal or Cesarian delivery)

  • Pelvic swelling, heaviness, or bulging

  • Abdominal separation (diastasis recti)

It’s natural to focus on preparing for baby.

But who is helping you prepare for delivery?
