Tiffany
Meet Tiffany. She is 15 weeks pregnant with her first baby.
She is excited but also worried about her quickly changing body, new aches & pains, and what is going to happen during delivery.
She knows exercise is good and has been told to do Kegels. The amount of info available is overwhelming and she is not quite sure where to start.
Personalized 1-on-1 Program
Prepare for the best pregnancy possible
Your pelvic health is an important aspect of pregnancy. This program was created to fill a gap in our healthcare system because the pelvic floor is often overlooked.
Our pregnancy program at Markham Pelvic Health is tailored to every individual’s needs. Our thorough assessment will allow us to establish a baseline for overall pelvic health. Doing so also enables us to create a comprehensive plan to help equip you with all the tools for delivery.
Maintain a high quality of life by treating symptoms such as pain and urinary leakage. We’ll ensure that you are as comfortable as possible as you reach full term.
Do you experience any of these symptoms?
Most extended health plans include pelvic floor physiotherapy as part of regular physiotherapy coverage. We encourage you to confirm your benefits directly with your insurance provider before your first visit.
No referral is needed. You can book directly with our registered pelvic floor physiotherapists. However, if you have extended health coverage, some insurance plans require a referral for reimbursement — check your plan details.
Pelvic floor physiotherapists have specialized, post-graduate training in addition to their Physiotherapy degree, allowing us to assess each case from a different perspective. Additionally:
- We are the clinic of choice for many of Markham-Stouffville Hospital’s Urologists, Gynecologists, Obstetricians and family doctors.
- We have a great reputation and are well-known through the Markham area and among many community groups.
- We offer comprehensive and individualized assessments and treatments
- The world of pelvic health is continuing to expand rapidly. We are committed to continuing education to ensure current, evidence-based care.
