March 17, 2020
To the valued clients at Markham Pelvic Health,
In an effort to flatten the curve of the Covid-19 outbreak, we have come to the difficult decision to close the clinic to Physiotherapy and Massage Therapy clients effective March 17, 2020. This is in line with the recommendations from public health authorities, the Government of Canada, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Ontario Physiotherapy Association, and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. As of March 17, 2020 the clinic will remain open to Psychotherapy and Dietetic clients with stringent measures in place for infection control and social distancing.
The health, safety, and wellbeing of our clients, staff, and community are of utmost importance to us and will always remain our top priority. The temporary closure will last until March 31, at which time we will reassess the situation to determine if further closure is indicated.
ALL clients will be contacted by phone to confirm or reschedule appointments. Should you wish to schedule an online consult or follow-up session for Physiotherapy, Dietetics, and/or Psychotherapy, please let us know as we in the process of setting up an online platform that is compliant with patient privacy and security standards. Group sessions at Markham Stouffville Hospital will continue to be held, but on an online platform. Please stay tuned for more information regarding telehealth appointments and our interactive webinars. We will communicate details on our website as well as via e-mail as they become available.
While you continue to work diligently on your self-care and rehab programs at home, we will continue to closely monitor the situation as it is rapidly changing day-to day. Should urgent care be needed for any reason at all, please not hesitate to contact us. We will be actively monitoring our phone lines and e-mail, and updating our website and social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram).
Given the fluidity of the situation, we thank you in advance for your understanding. We remain committed to our staff, clients, and community during these unprecedented times and we continue to stand together with our front line workers to reduce the spread of the virus and the demand on our healthcare system. We hope that you remain safe and healthy and we cannot wait to work with you or continue working with you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Melissa Wong and the Markham Pelvic Health team
