We are so excited to be launching a Pregnancy and Post-Partum Support Group in the Fall. This 6 week program will be facilitated by Judy Lui, Registered Psychotherapist.
This program is for any pregnant or post-partum woman.
Detailed Schedule (PLEASE SEE NEW DATES BELOW)
Week 1 (November 1, 2019) Post-partum mental health: understanding well-being
Week 2 (November 8, 2019) Challenges and changes: web of support and community
This week will cover some of the major challenges that new parents have. Participants will share their insight and experiences with each other in order to generate support and new ways of meeting these challenges without fear and anxiety.
Week 3 (November 15, 2019) Eating well for the family: meal planning and body image
For our food and nutrition week, we will explore our expectations around healthy eating and our post-baby body image. We will discuss practical tips for meal planning and we will share in a mindful eating activity together while continuing to build on the first two sessions of wellbeing and support.
Week 4 (November 22, 2019) Mindful movement: exercising and your post-partum body
Our Mindful Movement week will focus on the post-partum body and challenges related to exercise and attaining physical goals. Get ready to MOVE and engage in exercises that are nourishing for your mind and body.
Week 5 (December 6, 2019) Putting skills into practice
This week will give us a chance to regroup and reflect on any new challenges. We will do a few group activities that will help us put our skills into practice.
Week 6 (December 20, 2019) Wrap-up
We wrap our our 6 week pregnancy and post-partum support group with some goodies, final group activities, and reflection. We will discuss challenges that the upcoming Winter season can bring, and provide everyone an opportunity to continue the lasting relationships developed in the group.
FAQ
1) How much will it cost?
The cost of the 6 week program is $450 + HST. Payment will be required on the first day of the program. Receipts for each session will be provided on the day of attendance.
2) Can I claim this through my insurance?
Receipts for each session will be issued under Group Psychotherapy facilitated by a Registered Psychotherapist. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage. We are not responsible for unclaimed receipts.
3) Can I join after the group has started?
Each week builds on the content from the previous week and we are trying to create a cohesive, supportive group, that will hopefully continue to support each other well after the program ends. We require that all participants begin the program at the same time.
4) Are there refunds?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for any missed sessions.
5) When is the ideal time to attend?
Many of the skills and experiences we discuss are applicable and relevant right away. For this reason, this group is appropriate for anyone during their pregnancy or at any stage post-partum.
6) How many people will be in the group?
The group will be limited to the first 6-8 people who register.
7) I have registered online, now what?
A staff member will give you a phone call to get to know you a bit better, go over any additional details about the group, and answer any additional questions you might have.
